Maths - No Problem!

At Sandycroft we use a scheme called Maths - No Problem! to teach the curriculum through a mastery approach. Our approach aims to deepen children’s learning of basic mathematical concepts by exploring and reflecting upon authentic mathematical problems. Our children our encouraged to use practical resources to give reasons for their decisions as well as develop multiple ways o problem solve and become critical thinkers.

Read Write Inc (RWI)

We also use the RWI scheme to support our teaching of early phonics, reading and writing. Our children take part in engaging RWI lessons 4 times per week to develop their love for reading as well as their fluency and attainment. Each child will take home a reading book once a week that aims to further develop their reading skills. It is critical that you and your child read every night to ensure your child continues to make good progress as well as develop a love for stories.
